Hello, I’m Simon, a London-born writer and BICYCLE tour guide who’s called Berlin home for the past five years. For the past three, I’ve been guiding tours while also studying heritage at a local university.
Like many Berliners, I moved to Berlin just because I wanted to be here. I love the recency and drama of the history, the diversity of the architecture, and the down-to-earthness of the people. It’s a place where you can still find peeling plaster, alternative lifestyles, and a decent coffee for 2 euros — if you know where to look.
While I also lead walking tours, my specialty is longer cycling adventures in and around Berlin — half-day or full-day rides of 30–80 km on a range of themes. Think the parks and palaces of Potsdam, the UNESCO-listed interwar housing estates, or the industrial relics and ruined factories along the Spree. These are some of my personal favourites, but I’m always happy to design a tailor-made route to suit your interests, pace, and curiosity.
If you’re looking for the perfect day out on a bicycle — with an experienced, knowledgeable guide — I’d be delighted to show you my Berlin.
