Hi! My name is Reuben. Originally from Wales, having completed my BA in History and International Relations at Exeter University, I moved here to Berlin in 2020 to study my MA in Global History at the Freie Universität and the Humboldt Universität. Berlin has since captured me with its multilayered history and contemporary flair. My studies focussed on the structures of European colonialism; and I try to apply a global perspective to my tours and explore Berlin’s less-discovered role as the capital of a colonial empire.

I’ve been touring in Berlin and Potsdam since 2022, working with Original Berlin Walks, Insider Tours, and C&T Touring. In this time I’ve come to appreciate the depth and breadth of the city’s past through stories of oppression and liberation, death and survival; one need not scratch Berlin’s surface hard to uncover its multilayered history.

I hope to be able to share some of this past with you through the sites that served as the focal point for the long 20th Century and beyond. I see my tours as a dialog, and I’d love to explore the city with you!
